A Camping holiday at Sandy Acres not only clears your head, but it fills your heart.

Nestled beneath the grassy-backed dunes and above a secluded beach with an endless sky, tent camping here allows the expansive in and washes away the daily grind.

Sit back and chill to the crackle of your BBQ. Drink wine from your tin mug in the soft glow of your lantern, fill your boots, stargaze, then snuggle down and drift to the sound of the sea.

Who comes here?

We love you explorers, adventurers, buccaneers and swashbucklers, those that stay put and those that wander. We embrace you saltwater seekers and coast path stompers. From Couples, families and dogs to small well-behaved groups* all welcome under our roof. (* Please have a chat to us first).

Please note – due to the sensitive nature of the site: open fires/pits/buckets are not allowed.

BBQ’s are allowed but must be extinguished once your food has been cooked – During periods of extended dry weather BBQ’s are sometimes not allowed.

Our Pitches

Our great grassy non-electric tent and campervan pitches are all within earshot of the surf.  Stay for a week or bed in for longer, camping near the ocean in Cornwall has never been so good! Watch the charts and pack your surfboard for those summer lazy day swells.

Alternatively, if you’re here for a walking holiday, don your boots and stomp the south-west coast path to your heart’s content.

We have set changeover days of Tuesday and Saturday in the summer holidays (Super-pitches are Saturday – Saturday only).

We have a selection of non-electric pitches:

‘Super Pitches’ – are non-electric but offer more space.

Beach track pitches – are closest to the beach.

Campsite Seasonal Opening Times

The site is open from May– October and is available year-round for private bookings we have set changeover days during school holidays.

We do not accommodate 6 metre bell tents or big motorhomes.  Please enquire before booking

Campsite Facilities

Expect a little sand in our showers.  We clean them daily but smile when our guests have sandy toes. There’s no better reminder of a holiday well spent than washing away the salt and sand from a day at the beach.

We have 4x hot showers, 6x toilets, a dish-washing area and a small campsite shop for those camping essentials you may have forgotten (Please note that the showers are NOT power showers and the dishwashing has cold water only).

There is NO electric hook-up onsite however, we can charge mobile phones in the campsite office and if there is space we will charge laptops/small power packs at an extra cost.  There is NO fridge but there is a freezer for ice-packs only.

Prices are per pitch, per night and include 1 tent 1 car and 2 people (or the sleeping unit e.g campervan).  There are a maximum of 6 people per pitch.  No group bookings are accepted unless by prior arrangement

*Please note, super pitches do not have electric and are not large pitches for multiple tents. Extra cars, please enquire before booking. Dogs, maximum of 2 per pitch.

*For a 2, 3 or 4 night booking full payment will be asked for in advance which is non refundable if you cancel.

 Dogs Around The Site

We love dogs and love to see your four-legged friends camping out under the stars.  The beach below the campsite is dog-friendly and we sell dog ice cream for that special holiday treat.  The Southwest Coast Path is a few minutes from the campsite and you can enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings with your furry friends.

We have a strict ‘Dogs on Leads’ policy – PLEASE keep your dog on a lead onsite at all times – even when sat outside your tent.

Luckily we got a space. We only wanted one nights camping. Nice and remote on the start of the dunes. Lovely hot showers and clean toilets. A short drive away is a Lidl to stock up on beers n BBQ. Idyllic place for surfers and beach bums. Walk through the camp to the beautiful beach.

    Nice little peaceful campsite

Lovely little site by the sea, you can hear the waves at night. Basic but great, everything is clean and functional. It’s a very chilled and relaxing place with spacious pitches. It’s only 5 mins to the beach, but it’s a steep climb back up! You can see St Ives and watch the sun go down on top of the dunes. Beautiful and tranquil. Close to Hayle, St Ives and everywhere else. Dogs and (well-behaved) children are welcome.

Little gem of a campsite indeed!

    Little gem of a campsite!!

Spent two nights camping here and it was a perfect little site! We had a lovely little corner plot and the site is within a 5 min walk over the sand dunes onto Hayle Beach which was amazing. Perfect place to watch the sun go down.
Clean showers, toilets and cleaning area. Will definitely be going back!!

Back to nature in the dunes, great for surfers and families

This small campsite is amazing – basic with toilets, a couple of showers, cold washing up and no lighting at all on site, but very clean and eco-friendly. Just what you need when you want to experience the beauty of the place. Go to sleep with the waves crashing on the beach below – just 5 mins across and down dunes. The dunes are a SSSI – standing on a sandhill above our pitch, you can survey the whole of the bay of St Ives. Steep descent (and climb) through soft sand to beach. Wonderful surfers’ cafe in car park adjacent to site at tope of dunes. Good surfing just before high tide. Can’t wait to go back. Very easy to book – ‘phone up and they will reserve a spot for you and the pitches are a good size. Paul was managing and was friendly and laid back. And proper camping prices
